Pool Sanitizers

Keeping your pool primed for swimming means keeping your pool water clean, clear and safe. This is most often achieved by maintaining it with chemicals. One critical chemical that helps to promote pristine water is sanitizer.

Types of Sanitizers
When it comes to sanitizers for your pool, there are a range of options on the market. The most popular types include:

  • Cal Hypo
Also known as calcium hypochlorite, this potent pool sanitizer is a strong option that also boasts the benefit of adding calcium to your pool water.
  • Sodium Dichlor
This is the most common type of fast-dissolving sanitizer that quickly neutralizes pH levels without damaging pool surfaces.
  • Liquid Chlorine
A great, affordable option, liquid chlorine is a fast-acting sanitizer that unfortunately has a short shelf life.
  • Non-Chlorine Shock
Although technically not a sanitizer, it’s a great option for removing chloramines and ammonia while oxidizing organic contaminants found in your water.
